  1. 1. Coupling between iron and humic substances in a land-sea transitional zone in the northern Baltic Sea

    Kandidat-uppsats, Umeå universitet/Institutionen för ekologi, miljö och geovetenskap

    Författare :Anna Osterman; [2023]
    Nyckelord :Iron; Humic substances; Dissolved organic carbon; Baltic Sea; Rivers;

    Sammanfattning : In marine ecosystems around the world, iron (Fe) is a well-studied and important trace element which has been found to stimulate phytoplankton and cyanobacteria growth, as well as limit nitrogen fixation and being essential for Legionella pneumophila which is known as the main cause of Legionnaires’ disease. Fe also contributes to the brownification of freshwater and has recently been documented to increase in concentration in rivers in Sweden. LÄS MER

  2. 2. En experimentell studie om VVC & KVC-värmepump för att motverka legionella

    Kandidat-uppsats, KTH/Skolan för industriell teknik och management (ITM)

    Författare :Anton Julin Wallén; Arijan Ghassemloi; Marvina Mukamisha; [2023]
    Nyckelord :;

    Sammanfattning : Denna studie har som syfte att främst motverka legionellabakterier i tappvattnet som kan bildas och växa om tappvattnets temperatur ligger inom riskområdet på 20–50 °C. Inandning av legionellabakterier kan leda till pontiacfeber eller den dödliga sjukdomen legionella. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Optimization of a method for detection of Legionella pneumophila in water samples

    Kandidat-uppsats, Uppsala universitet/Institutionen för medicinsk cellbiologi

    Författare :Charlotte Wilén; [2021]
    Nyckelord :Filters; filtration speed; Legionnaires’ disease; manifold; water quality;

    Sammanfattning : Legionella pneumophila is a bacterium which can be found in fresh water and causes Legionnaires’ disease, which can be deadly for humans depending on the condition of the infected individual. The bacterium is a gram-negative rod and can withstand severe conditions such as high temperature. LÄS MER
