  1. 1. Home automation using the Internet of Things

    Uppsats för yrkesexamina på grundnivå, Uppsala universitet/Signaler och system

    Författare :Ronghan Wu; [2023]
    Nyckelord :;

    Sammanfattning : This bachelor’s thesis project is intended to study IoT (Internet of Things) and apply it to an application in home automation. To this purpose, a prototype has been implemented that can measure indoor temperature and humidity, display the measurement data on an LCD display, and then send the measurement data to a cloud server for users to read online. 2. 2. Energy Sustainable Reinforcement Learning-based Adaptive Duty-Cycling in Wireless Sensor Networks-based Internet of Things Networks

    Master-uppsats, Luleå tekniska universitet/Institutionen för system- och rymdteknik

    Författare :Nadia Charef; [2023]
    Nyckelord :Reinforcement Learning; Q-learning; Dynamic Energy Management; Energy Sustainabiltiy; IEEE802.15.4 MAC Protocol; Adaptive Duty Cycling; Wireless Sensors Networks; Internet of Things;

    Sammanfattning : The Internet of Things (IoT) is widely adopted across various fields due to its flexibility and low cost. Energy-harvesting Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs) are becoming a building block of many IoT applications and provide a perpetual source of energy to power energy-constrained IoT devices. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Real-Time Rotor Temperature Estimation Method for Interior Permanent Magnet Synchronous Machines : A method using a Lumped Parameter Thermal Network in combination with an estimation algorithm: implementation and comparison of a Dual Kalman Filter and a Dual Observer

    Master-uppsats, KTH/Skolan för elektroteknik och datavetenskap (EECS)

    Författare :Elvira Niemelä; [2022]
    Nyckelord :Permanent Magnet Synchronous Machine; Permanent Magnet Temperature Estimation; Lumped Parameter Thermal Network; Dual Kalman Filter; Dual Observer; Permanentmagnetiserad Synkronmaskin; Temperaturestimering för Permanentmagneter; Lumped Parameter Thermal Network; Dual Kalman Filter; Dual Observer;

    Sammanfattning : Accurate knowledge of the temperature of a Permanent Magnet Synchronous Machine is of high importance, not only to ensure safe operation and improve control of the operating point, but also to avoid irreversible demagnetization of rare-earth permanent magnets. However, direct measurement using thermal sensors is not suitable for high volume and low-cost applications, due to costly sensor installation and maintenance, and therefore, the magnet temperature needs instead to be estimated. 4. 4. The application of low-cost sensors in estimates of greenhouse gases : A field study at a wastewater treatment plant

    Kandidat-uppsats, Linköpings universitet/Filosofiska fakulteten; Linköpings universitet/Tema Miljöförändring

    Författare :Daniel Montecinos; Saga Magnusson; [2022]
    Nyckelord :Methane; Carbon dioxide; wastewater treatment; Low-cost sensor network; Measurement; Environmental monitoring;

    Sammanfattning : Anthropogenic activity has caused increased concentrations of greenhouse gases (GHGs) in the atmosphere which has resulted in global warming gaining momentum. GHG emission estimates up to date are insufficient and in order to mitigate GHG emissions of anthropogenic origin fluxes of GHGs need to be mapped. LÄS MER

  5. 5. An approach to evaluate machine learning algorithms for appliance classification

    Kandidat-uppsats, Malmö universitet/Fakulteten för teknik och samhälle (TS)

    Författare :Charlie Olsson; David Hurtig; [2019]
    Nyckelord :Machinelearning; lstm; NILM; evaluate; algorithms; appliance; classification; machine; learning;

    Sammanfattning : A cheap and powerful solution to lower the electricity usage and making the residents more energy aware in a home is to simply make the residents aware of what appliances that are consuming electricity. Meaning the residents can then take decisions to turn them off in order to save energy. LÄS MER
