  1. 1. Metaller i Vombsjön - Mygglarver som bioindikator för miljöövervakning

    Kandidat-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Centrum för miljö- och klimatvetenskap (CEC)

    Författare :Siri Bengtsson; [2024]
    Nyckelord :Bioindicators; Chironomidae; Freshwater source; Lake Vomb; Metal concentrations; Pollution; Sediment sampling; Earth and Environmental Sciences;

    Sammanfattning : This study investigates concentrations of eight metals (Cu, Zn, Cd, Pb, Hg, Cr, Ni, As) in the freshwater resource Lake Vomb, located in the south of Sweden (Scania), and explores the potential use of deformed Chironomidae larvae as bioindicator. Sediment samples from six locations were analysed against threshold values from the Swedish Agency for Marine and Water Management and background values from the Swedish Environmental Protection Agency. Kandidat-uppsats, Göteborgs universitet/Institutionen för kulturvård

    Författare :Gabriella Zimmerman; [2023-11-07]
    Nyckelord :plaster cast conservation; iron corrosion staining; xanthan gel; Arbocel®; latex cleaning; chelating agents;

    Sammanfattning : Conservation of plaster casts is complex due to the nature of the material itself. Corrosion of armature and metal structural supports is one of the most common causes of damage in plaster casts and subsequent corrosion staining. LÄS MER

  3. 3. If Trees Could Talk - Dendrochemistry, a Promising Method for Understanding Pollution History

    Master-uppsats, Göteborgs universitet/Institutionen för geovetenskaper

    Författare :Jonatan Uusitalo; [2023-08-17]
    Nyckelord :;

    Sammanfattning : Heavy metal pollution presents a significant environmental challenge in the Anthropocene era, and understanding pollution history is crucial to address historical pollution and implementing effective mitigation measures. This study stands among a few comprehensive dendrochemical investigations that utilized an extensive dataset and energy dispersive X-ray fluorescence (EDXRF) technique to reconstruct the contamination history of As, Cd, Cu, Ni, Pb, and Zn, with a focus on Cu. 4. 4. Stability improvement to a ruthenium catalyst for partial oxidation of methane

    Master-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Kemiteknik (CI)

    Författare :Melker Axelsson; [2023]
    Nyckelord :catalysis; reaction engineering; kinetics; partial oxidation; chemical engineering; Technology and Engineering;

    Sammanfattning : Catalytic partial oxidation of methane (CPOM) is an energy-efficient alternative to steam reforming, the currently prevailing method for energy production from natural gas. Hulteberg Chemistry & Engineering AB has developed a catalyst for the partial oxidation of methane into syngas, for use in solid oxide fuel cells. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Lead Concentrations in Indoor Dust : Differences Between Indoor Shooting Ranges and Assumed Non-Lead Contaminated Sites

    Kandidat-uppsats, Umeå universitet/Institutionen för ekologi, miljö och geovetenskap

    Författare :Lena Brolin; [2023]
    Nyckelord :Ammunition; environmentally friendly ammunition; lead; lead at indoor shooting ranges; lead exposure.;

    Sammanfattning : A projectile which missed its target and falls into the bullet trap at the end of the shooting range might not be viewed as dangerous. Yet, hazardous fumes and fine metal fragments from the bullet might contaminate the users of the shooting range. LÄS MER
