    Sammanfattning : This study investigates concentrations of eight metals (Cu, Zn, Cd, Pb, Hg, Cr, Ni, As) in the freshwater resource Lake Vomb, located in the south of Sweden (Scania), and explores the potential use of deformed Chironomidae larvae as bioindicator. Sediment samples from six locations were analysed against threshold values from the Swedish Agency for Marine and Water Management and background values from the Swedish Environmental Protection Agency.     Sammanfattning : Climate change and socio-economic development are greatly affecting the quality of freshwater, especially the excessive accumulation of nutrients (N and P), which eventually leads to the occurrence of eutrophication.     Sammanfattning : Lake Vomb, located in Sk˚ane, Sweden, provides water for groundwater infiltration, used for the drinking water supply of several municipalities, including Malm¨o. The lake is in a bad ecological condition with intense algae blooms during summer. Cyanobacteria dominate mentioned blooms in 2021 posing the threat of releasing cyanotoxins. LÄS MER
