1. Metaller i Vombsjön - Mygglarver som bioindikator för miljöövervakning
Kandidat-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Centrum för miljö- och klimatvetenskap (CEC)Sammanfattning : This study investigates concentrations of eight metals (Cu, Zn, Cd, Pb, Hg, Cr, Ni, As) in the freshwater resource Lake Vomb, located in the south of Sweden (Scania), and explores the potential use of deformed Chironomidae larvae as bioindicator. Sediment samples from six locations were analysed against threshold values from the Swedish Agency for Marine and Water Management and background values from the Swedish Environmental Protection Agency. 2. Modelling the Impact of Climate and Socio-Economic Changes on Nutrient Dynamics in the Catchment of Lake Vomb
Master-uppsats, Uppsala universitet/Institutionen för geovetenskaperSammanfattning : Climate change and socio-economic development are greatly affecting the quality of freshwater, especially the excessive accumulation of nutrients (N and P), which eventually leads to the occurrence of eutrophication. Lake Vomb is one of the main sources of drinking water in southern Sweden and the nutrient load from the catchment makes it a eutrophic lake with recurring algal blooms. LÄS MER
3. Analysis of the water quality dynamics of Lake Vomb; Interactions between water quality profile and cyanobacterial bloom in a eutrophic lake in Sweden
Master-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Avdelningen för Teknisk vattenresursläraSammanfattning : Lake Vomb, located in Sk˚ane, Sweden, provides water for groundwater infiltration, used for the drinking water supply of several municipalities, including Malm¨o. The lake is in a bad ecological condition with intense algae blooms during summer. Cyanobacteria dominate mentioned blooms in 2021 posing the threat of releasing cyanotoxins. LÄS MER
4. Balances for water and phosphorus in Lake Vomb, south Sweden
Master-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Avdelningen för Teknisk vattenresursläraSammanfattning : Eutrophication caused by nutrients such as phosphorus has become a major issue over the years. Dealing with this phenomenon is a major concern in many countries, and municipalities are establishing strict rules to cope with this problem in water bodies. LÄS MER
5. Hydrodynamic and Eutrophication Modelling of Lake Vomb: Impact of Future Climate Change on Cyanobacteria
Master-uppsats, Uppsala universitet/Luft-, vatten- och landskapsläraSammanfattning : The increasing frequency of Cyanobacterial blooms in freshwater bodies raise concerns around the globe. The consequences of this phenomenon impact not only human health but the entire surrounding ecosystem. During the past decades, numerical modelling has been increasingly used to investigate and study aquatic systems. LÄS MER
