21. Investigations of p-type quantum dots in GaSb nanowires
Master-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Fasta tillståndets fysik; Lunds universitet/Fysiska institutionenSammanfattning : The purpose of this project is to investigate hole transport in p-type quantum dots formed in GaSb nanowire and operating as single hole transistors. The individual and controlled hole-spin confinement in such system yields a variety of proposed applications for spintronics or quantum computation. LÄS MER
22. Characterization of Secondary Carbides in Low-Alloyed Martensitic Model Alloy Tool Steels
Master-uppsats, KTH/MaterialvetenskapSammanfattning : The development of tool steels for making and shaping other materials requires a better understanding of the material's properties during manufacture. These high-quality steels include many alloying elements, which give increased hardness during tempering. For producing hardened microstructures, austenite generation is essential. LÄS MER
23. Characterization of InAs-Al semiconductor-superconductor hybrid devices
Master-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Fasta tillståndets fysik; Lunds universitet/Fysiska institutionenSammanfattning : In this thesis we study charge and spin transport through InAs-Al nanowire superconductor-semiconductor hybrid devices. We focus on assessing the quality of the InAs-Al contact interface when using a weak HCl acid to wet-etch the nanowire surface prior to metal evaporation. LÄS MER
24. Coulomb drag in parallel nanowires
Master-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Fasta tillståndets fysik; Lunds universitet/Fysiska institutionenSammanfattning : In this project the transport phenomenon Coulomb drag is studied in a 1D system comprised of two nanowires in parallel. Specifically, a driving current across the active wire generated a drag current in the passive wire, and we studied how Coulomb drag influenced both the driving and drag currents. LÄS MER
25. Gap properties of helical edge states in two-dimensional topological insulators with time-dependent magnetic impurities
Master-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Fasta tillståndets fysik; Lunds universitet/Fysiska institutionenSammanfattning : The quantum mechanical equivalent of the classical Hall effect can lead to interesting results in solid state physics. A similar effect, that has received attention in recent years, occurs when large spin-orbit coupling is present in a material, the so-called quantum-spin Hall effect. LÄS MER
