  1. 1. Utsöndrade extracellulära vesiklar (EV) från hästens spolmask Parascaris univalens och deras immunmodulerande roll

    Uppsats för yrkesexamina på avancerad nivå, SLU/Dept. of Biomedical Sciences and Veterinary Public Health

    Författare :Karin Tufvesson; [2022]
    Nyckelord :Extracellulära vesiklar; Parascaris univalens; hästens spolmask; ST2; DUSP1; PCR;

    Sammanfattning : Under det senaste decenniet har ett nytt forskningsområde vuxit fram som handlar om kartläggning av extracellulära vesiklar (EV) från parasiter samt hur de kan påverka värddjurets immunförsvar. EV är lipidmembranförsedda blåsor innehållande bland annat proteiner och nukleinsyror och som används för cellkommunikation. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Characterization of Giardia intestinalis PAMPs and localization of Giardia’s secretome proteins during infection

    Master-uppsats, Uppsala universitet/Institutionen för medicinsk biokemi och mikrobiologi

    Författare :Rafael Marques; [2021]
    Nyckelord :Excretory-secretory products ESP ; Variable surface proteins VSPs ; High cysteine membrane proteins HCMPs ; Tenascins; Pathogen-associated molecular patterns PAMPs ; Host-parasite interactions;

    Sammanfattning : Giardia intestinalis is a unicellular protozoan parasite responsible for 280 million gastrointestinal infections every year. When colonizing its host, Giardia interacts closely with the small intestine epithelium by attaching to enterocytes and releasing multiple proteins to the extracellular environment. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Cytokine production in equine peripheral blood mononuclear cells induced by SvSXP, a Strongylus vulgaris excretory/secretory protein

    Master-uppsats, SLU/Dept. of Animal Breeding and Genetics

    Författare :Cecilia Winkler; [2021]
    Nyckelord :Strongylus vulgaris; equine; cytokine; cyathostomins; vaccine; SvSXP;

    Sammanfattning : The most pathogenic intestinal parasite in horses is Strongylus vulgaris (large bloodworm). When a horse becomes infected with S. vulgaris, the larva penetrates the intestinal wall and migrates through the horse's blood vessels. The parasite can cause serious injuries that can lead to severe colic and, in the worst case, death. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Optimizing signal peptides for expression of recombinant antibodies in HEK293 cells

    Master-uppsats, Linköpings universitet/Institutionen för fysik, kemi och biologi

    Författare :Gustav Myhrinder; [2020]
    Nyckelord :Signal peptide; antibody; mammalian cell; HEK293; secretory pathway;

    Sammanfattning : Monoclonal antibodies are well-established as a therapeutic in the biopharmaceutical market, targeting a variety of diseases and with 79 approved products by the United States Food and Drug Administration in December 2019. Therapeutic monoclonal antibodies are commonly produced as recombinant proteins in mammalian cell lines, due to their capacity of post-translational modifications, most notably glycosylation. 5. 5. Investigation of immunomodulatory properties of anti-secretory factor in experimental brain tumor models

    Kandidat-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Läkarutbildningen

    Författare :Hanin Fabiana El-Sabee; Amanda Peetre; [2020]
    Nyckelord :Antisecretory factor; Immunomodulation; Glioblastoma; Medicine and Health Sciences;

    Sammanfattning : Introduction: Glioblastoma is the most aggressive form of primary brain tumor in adults. Current treatment including chemotherapy poses a limitation due to consequences of systemic toxicity. Further studies for alternative, multimodal treatments are necessary. Antisecretory factor is an endogenous protein. LÄS MER
