21. Dynamic synapses in neural information processing : Examining the influence of short-term synaptic plasticity on neural coding
Kandidat-uppsats, KTH/Skolan för elektroteknik och datavetenskap (EECS)Sammanfattning : Short-term synaptic plasticity (STP) is a phenomenon that has been closely associated with how neurons communicate with each other. I study communication between neurons tied to synapses endowed with short-term plasticity (dynamic synapses). LÄS MER
22. Simulations of experimental crack development in ceramic material with notched specimen
Master-uppsats, KTH/HållfasthetsläraSammanfattning : Low-density armour often uses ceramic materials, as their high compressive strength and relatively low weight make the material ideal for moving in the field. The ballistic protection works by redirecting the plastic flow of the projectile radially, which reduces penetration. LÄS MER
23. Well-posedness of a class of continuity equations posed in the space of time-dependent Radon measures
Kandidat-uppsats, Karlstads universitet/Institutionen för matematik och datavetenskap (from 2013)Sammanfattning : We consider a class of partial differential equations whose solutions are elements of a space of measures. The motivation for modeling with measures is that sometimes selection-mutation models or models of for example population dynamics or opinion-formation are designed to describe not functions, but rather evolving distributions which can be described by measures. 24. Selection Intent Prediction in Online Virtual Environments : A Comparison Study
Master-uppsats, KTH/Skolan för elektroteknik och datavetenskap (EECS)Sammanfattning : In this work, we address the problem of the selection of 3D objects based on the user’s intent to interact with them in online virtual environments, both on desktop and VR devices. In addition to the traditional ray-casting technique, we select four promising techniques from the literature using time-dependent volumetric scoring (IntenSelect), trajectory prediction (KEP), Kalman filters enhancement (KalmanKEP) and machine learning with decision trees (MTP). 25. A Physics-Informed Deep Learning Framework for Solving Inverse Problems in Epidemiology
Master-uppsats, KTH/Optimeringslära och systemteoriSammanfattning : This thesis develops and evaluates a physics-informed neural network (PINN) modelling framework for solving inverse problems in epidemiology. The PINN works by modifying the standard mean squared error loss function of the neural network, by adding a term penalizing deviations from a given compartmental model's system of ordinary differential equations.
