    Sammanfattning : Plasmacytoid dendritic cells (PDCs) are one cellular target of HIV-1 and respond to the virus by producing type I interferons and chemokines. PDCs exposed to HIV-1 strongly upregulate the expression of maturation markers such as CD83, CD80, CD86 and CCR7, which will turn them into professional antigen presenting cells with the ability to stimulate naïve CD4+T cells.
