  1. 11. Fördjupad landskapsplanering i fjällnära skog : höga naturvärden, markägande och ersättning för rätt att bruka skog

    Master-uppsats, SLU/Dept. of Wildlife, Fish and Environmental Studies

    Författare :Petra Landström; [2022]
    Nyckelord :Forest investigation; private forest owners; nature conservation; conservation conflict; forest policy; high conservation value forest; northwest Swede; mountain forest border; sorsele municipality;

    Sammanfattning : Fragmentation constitutes one of the biggest threats against biodiversity, and conservation efforts are increasing. Conservation efforts which are created at an international or national level may cause conflicts when it is time for the local implementation. LÄS MER

  2. 12. A predator´s diet : prey composition analysis of Atlantic bluefin tuna in Skagerrak and Kattegat

    Master-uppsats, SLU/Dept. of Wildlife, Fish and Environmental Studies

    Författare :William Jaktén Langert; [2022]
    Nyckelord :Atlantic bluefin tuna; stomach content analysis; fisheries;

    Sammanfattning : Atlantic bluefin tuna is an efficient predator and was a common pelagic species in the north-east Atlantic, including the North Sea and the areas of Skagerrak and Kattegat, in the first half of the 20th century. Following a population collapse in the 1960s, the tuna disappeared from Skagerrak and Kattegatt, however in recent years the tuna has returned to these waters following successful management. 3. 13. Influence of surface water availability on the distribution of White Rhinoceros in central Greater Kruger

    Master-uppsats, SLU/Dept. of Wildlife, Fish and Environmental Studies

    Författare :Julie Mauguiere; [2022]
    Nyckelord :White Rhinoceros; Ceratotherium simum; water provisioning; artificial water; ecological processes; habitat selection; spatial ecology; landscape use; KNP; APNR; SAWC;

    Sammanfattning : The population of white rhinoceros (Ceratotherium simum simum) is now declining in the Kruger National Park (KNP) in South Africa due to the intense poaching crisis ongoing since the early 2000s. The need for an efficient conservation effort has never been greater and requires a better understanding of white rhinoceros distribution in the landscape. LÄS MER

  4. 14. How does habitat selection by brown bear (Ursus arctos) during the berry season change due to forestry and human disturbance : looking at three different periods of human dis-turbances

    Master-uppsats, SLU/Dept. of Wildlife, Fish and Environmental Studies

    Författare :Jeanette Jonsson; [2022]
    Nyckelord :Brown bear; Ursus arctos; integrated step selection function; habi-tat selection;

    Sammanfattning : Brown bear (Ursus arctos) is the most widespread large carnivore. It is an apex predator and does not have natural enemies but is hunted by humans in Sweden. During the period July to October their main food resource is bilberry, which contains carbohydrates that are important for their fat resources before entering hibernation. LÄS MER

  5. 15. Förekomst av rådjur och dovhjort i förhållande till varandra : möjliga effekter av födokonkurrens

    Kandidat-uppsats, SLU/Dept. of Forest Ecology and Management

    Författare :Olof Skoglund; Axel Lomander; [2022]
    Nyckelord :dovhjort; rådjur; avskjutning; konkurrens; föda;

    Sammanfattning : Competition in ecosystems can occur in different ways and it is especially important to understand the competition due to well-functioning game management in order to predict what will happen to the competitive situation if something change in the ecosystem. Competition between herbivores can limit certain ecosystem services or lead to a reduction in the biodiversity. LÄS MER
