Epressed emotion: en litteraturöversikt

Detta är en Magister-uppsats från Lunds universitet/Institutionen för psykologi

Sammanfattning: This essay is an overview about research in EE, Expressed Emotion, during the years of 1972 – 2008. This concept comes from research on schizophrenia where it became apparent that in families having high EE, as exemplified by hostility, criticism and overinvolvment, the patient had a larger risk of recurrence. To evaluate EE most often the Camberwell Family Interview is used. The concept of EE has developed over time and now other instruments are also used to measure EE, such as the FOF, “Questions about the Family”. Psychoeducative efforts as well as family interventions appear to give good results. In the future Family therapeutic efforts could also be developed and evaluated. The concept EE is now not only used in treatment of schizophrenia but also against bipolar disorder, anorexia, asthma and other conditions. The concept has also spread to other countries outside USA and UK, for example Japan. More evaluations have to be carried out to establish which methods of treatment should be used in the future.
