Sammanfattning: The purpose of the study is to develop a new cost-effective compost for Separett AB with a lower cost during transportation than the current product. The study began with gathering requirements from the company in a requirement specification. This specification provided a good basis of what was needed to include during the development. These requirements werealso supplemented by market research to understand what has been positive and negative with the current compost. To further develop the compost the market research and requirement specification was analyzed to create a functional analysis which helped to clarify what functions the compost should consist of and how it will operate at best. To generate different solutions from these functions, a morphological matrix was used to create different concepts. These concepts consist of different functions from the analysis and when mixed they make whole concepts ideas. When whole concepts were made, they then got evaluated against the requirements to ensure that they are following the specification. These evaluations were done using two different matrices. The first was Go/No-Go and the second was Pugh’s matrix. The concepts were based of their ability to handle the different requirements, the concepts that performed the best was chosen to further develop in CAD to produce a working CAD prototype. This concept was then presented at meetings with the company’s development team and the CEO of Separett. At the meetings the product received feedback and inputs, what is positive and less positive. The company recommended to proceed with an additional part that will hold the compost together and other small details such as screw holes, and list placement. This CAD will in turn then become the first prototype of Separett AB’s new compost. Everything that is in this project will be handed over to the development department at Separett where they will continue to get a new compost.
