Sammanfattning: The purpose of this study was to examine what impact that leadership can have on employee’s motivation and well-being in the workplace. A qualitative method has been implemented consisting of eight semi-structured interviews where all respondents were employed at a furniture store in central Sweden. The interviews was analyzed through an inductive thematic analysis and the results were presented under three main themes: Requirements, mandate to make decisions and lack of support. The results of the study showed that the respondents deemed that the leadership was inadequate, they considered that communication between managers and employees was unsuccessful or completely lacking. The respondents felt that they had no opportunity to professional growth in the workplace and has repeatedly demanded more feedback from their manager. One consequence highlighted by the respondents was that their community within the colleagues has been strengthened between them due to the lack of leadership. That community was the reason why, despite the disappointment of the leadership, the respondents ended up feeling relatively good in the workplace.
