Sammanfattning: Sweden has approximately 20 200 kilometers of gravel roads, annually maintained at a great cost for society and entrepreneurs. Nowadays stakeholders agree on efficient ways on practicing the maintaining activities; however the knowledge has not yet been assembled. It is therefore in the interest of the entrepreneurs to gather valuable information from experts in order to distinguish the most profitable way of performing those activities. The aim of the study was to distinguish how entrepreneurs located in different parts of Sweden are dealing with maintenance of gravel roads and placing/picking snowpoles.More specificly the aim was to identify the most profitable way of maintance from economical-, efficient- and work environmental aspects. Data were gathered using questionnaires and interviews were conducted with selected employees in the Skanska Company. Earlier reaserch identifies how to maintain gravelroads and placing/picking snowpoles. This study shows that no standardization of an optimal executing for these activities is possible. The entrepreneurs are working with the activities using similar methods, taking in consideration individual conditions. Based on current conditions, entreprenuers have to modify the implementation of the result accordingly.
