Sammanfattning:  The purpose of this study was to investigate how schools work to counteract, prevent and remedy abusive treatment online and on various social media. In our study we have chosen a collective name for these concepts, with the concept mediated bullying (medierad mobbing). The study is based on a qualitative method with semi-structured interview questions. The interviews were conducted at five different schools with a total of six different informants, two of whom are middle school teachers, two primary school teachers, a special educator, and a counselor. All informants work in schools in the suburbs of a bigger city. The research questions for the study were; 1. How does the school work preventatively against mediated bullying? 2. How and when is it relevant to incorporate value-based work in education? The study indicated that mediated bullying is an ambiguous concept. This means that there is no fixed meaning, and as such there are multiple ways to interpret bullying on various mediated platforms. As the mediated world has reached lower ages, the study also indicated that working with fundamental values and language use should be emphasized from an earlier age. Notably, schools do not have a standardized template for how to address and mitigate mediated bullying; therefore, this results in large knowledge gaps due to the discrepancies with the information shared among adults. Ultimately, this contributes to teachers having feelings of helplessness at work. Keywords: Medierad mobbning, kränkningar över sociala medier, nätmobbning, förebyggande, åtgärdande, nätsmart, värdegrundsarbete, mobbning
