Sammanfattning: The purpose of this thesis is to present what weather protection is used for in wooden constructions and to investigate, evaluate and compare different weather protection available on the market today with a focus on their quality, function, user-friendliness, price and impact on the work environment. This project is divided into two parts. The first part is a literature study to gain a greater insight to the subject and the second part is a market research. The literature study is done to gather knowledge and provide a basic understanding for the subject and it is based on both books and electronic sources. The market research is conducted to gather additional knowledge and experience from actors who work with weather protection. This should serve as a basis for being able to compare the different types of weather protection available on the market today. The market research is carried out in the form of a questionnaire that is sent out to weather protection suppliers and manufacturers. In the study "A better construction process" which was done in 2016 by Layher AB and Byggherrarna, it showed that there are several explanations for why building companies choose not to build with weather protection. For example, it was shown that many actors lack knowledge about the benefits of a weather-protected building. The economy was also a factor where the companies thought that weather protection entailed extra costs instead of savings. Boverkets byggregler, BBR, are a collection of regulations and general guidelines and they recommend the industry to use the standard ByggaF as a guide to how moisture safety can be verified at all stages of the construction project. BBR's general advice under section 6:51 states that "Buildings, construction products and building materials should be protected against moisture and dirt during the construction period." It is thus not stated that it is precisely a weather protection that must be used. Price was a parameter that was difficult to determine according to the suppliers, which was mainly due to the fact that all projects are unique. Therefore, the survey was supplemented with a reference project to clarify the issue of price and to provide us with comparable data. Despite this, we only received cost information from a few suppliers. The main purpose of this study was to find the weather protections available on the market today and to investigate whether there were any major differences between these. After the market research, the study has concluded that there are two leading weather protection products on the market today. These are HAKI and Layher. HAKI replied that they only manufacture fixed roof weather protection and mobile roof weather protection and therefore the comparison was only made on these two types. The brand's fixed and mobile weather protection has been compared based on their quality, price, function, user-friendliness and impact on the work environment. After the comparison, we cannot see any significant difference in either their fixed or mobile roof weather protection. This is mainly because we did not receive enough information through the survey to be able to compare them more deeply. In order to be able to gather more information, the questionnaire questions have to be developed, supplemented and specified to facilitate both for the respondent and for the interpretation process. Since there were very few suppliers who responded to the survey and submitted a quotation, it will be difficult to distinguish the brands in the comparison and thus it will be difficult to draw a conclusion based on the market research. In order to be able to make better assessments of the various parameters, the questions need to be developed and supplemented.
