Hur kan man skapa ett tidrapporteringssystem som uppmanar anställda att rapportera varje dag? : En studie med mål att förbättra och förenkla tidrapportering

Sammanfattning: This study is conducted at the IT company Skry. The study explores how to increase usability in a time reporting system and whether it can lead to more employees reporting their worked hours daily. Currently, the problem is that several employees report their worked hours for all their working days at the end of the month instead of each day. This can be problematic as most employees work as consultants and it is important that the number of worked hours is reported correctly. The study investigates whether the problem is due to the time reporting system not being user-friendly enough or whether employees simply forget to report their time. And if so, a behavior change can be promoted by creating a new habit of reporting their time daily. To test this, six Skry employees received a notification at the end of the day for a week reminding them to report their time. After that week, the test was followed up with interviews where employees reflected on their thoughts about the notification and whether it helped them to report daily. All time reports from 48 employees during a month were analyzed to compare the six participants in the study with the remaining employees. The results showed that the employees who participated in the study actually improved their daily time reporting during the week when the notification was sent, especially those who admitted to forgetting to report their time in their interview. The results also showed that during that week, almost all of the participants reported roughly at the same time, which was shortly after the notification was sent out. The results confirm that the notification worked well as a reminder and made the employees better at reporting daily. However, there is no evidence that the system is not user-friendly enough or that a new habit was created.
