Flöden och processer på Fristadstorget

Sammanfattning: This thesis is about Fristadstorget in the city of Eskilstuna and how the square flow together with the user orientation could be improved. This work focuses on how public spaces best satisfy users through architecture, cognition and information interpretation. I've looked at people's movement patterns in Fristadstorget, with the help of observation from strategic locations. While I also integrated the city’s surrounding and taking in information from already existing buildings around the square. My design emphasizes the results about a new and more useful square in Eskilstuna and I have worked with the future vision of the city of Eskilstuna and transformation. The transformation of the square is necessary to make Fristadstorget a more clear and preferable place that will have a better relationship between users and the room. The square needed to improve the market trade, introduce a coffe place, more seating, more natural parts and think about how the people can use the square during winter and summer time, with an open part for events and a built part for the users every day.
