Reproduktionen av genusi träningsbloggar : En kritisk diskursanalys av sex träningsbloggar

Sammanfattning: The purpose of this thesis is to examine the athletic body ideal and the (re)production of gender in fitness blogs. Therefore following research questions were asked: “How is gender reproduced in fitness blogs?”, “What function do images depicting bodies on fitness blogs have in this reproduction?” and “How are the hegemonic discourses challenged in the negotiation of gender in these blogs?”. To answer these research questions critical discourse analysis were applied on six Swedish fitness blogs. The theoretical framework was based on theories by Goffman, Butler, Foucault, Featherstone and Shilling. The result shows that gender is (re)produced in self-presentations and styles. Likewise,  images are important in this (re)production. In addition the hegemonic discourses are challenged in various types of communication events. However the negotiation of  the binary  gender roles is not explicit continuous, rather alternative gender roles are undone through invisibility, on Swedish fitness blogs.
