Sammanfattning: This essay examines Wendelsbergs folk high schools thoughts and education during the early 20-century, with the purpose to understand why Wendelsbergs folk high school started and what purpose they had for their students' education. The memoir and the annual report analyzed are both from Wendelsesberg folk high school between 1908-1928. The survey focuses on the thoughts Wendelsbergs had for the schools establishment, while the annual reports focuses on the education they had. In order to analyze, the study is inspired by a theoretical point created by Émile Durkheim´s research of premodern societies and modern societies. These two ideologies are used to understand how citizens were found in solidarity. This theory is discussed together with the material which this survey analyzes, and the results show how Wendelsbergs folk high school has applied Durkheim's theory in a local perspective.
