Stora Sundby Hästterapi

Detta är en Kandidat-uppsats från KTH/Arkitektur

Sammanfattning: The project, a hybrid between a community house and a center for horse led therapy, is designed with the intention of exploring the classic barn typology and modernizing a classical timber technique called bole house or post-and-plank. The building is situated in the northernmost part of the land belonging to Stora Sundby Castle and lies near Alberga city center. Alberga is a small town about 30 minutes southwest of Eskilstuna, with close ties to several bigger cities in Mälardalen like Västerås, Strängnäs, and Kungsör. The building is structured around three functions: therapy, socializing, and experiencing nature and animals. The horse-led therapy, HUI, is located in the east wing and houses rooms that allow the therapist to utilize horses and riding in their practice. The two remaining functions take up the rest of the building, with a variety of social spaces and meeting rooms oriented towards the beautiful forest that the house borders.
