Sammanfattning: The aim of this study is to increase the knowledge and understanding of pregnant women's experiences of motivation relative to organized and adapted pregnancy exercise in groups, through semi-structured interviews. There, the main focus is on the variable motivation and how it looks in pregnant women who choose to carry out that type of exercise. In the present study, adapted and organized exercise means the kind of activity that pregnant women can perform in consideration of their condition with some sort of instructor or trained person in charge guiding the activity. Total of eight pregnant participants in the ages between 28-35 (M=31.5, SD=2.6) being in either the second or third trimester were interviewed for the study. The analyzing method used was a thematic analysis which resulted in three main themes: (1) Feeling heavy and awkward together is a part of the social community, (2) Positive experiences of adapted physical activity during pregnancy, and (3) Pregnant women’s opportunity to participate in physical activity. The first theme has three underlying themes while the second and third main themes have two underlying themes each. One conclusion made was that pregnant women experience more motivation through the fulfillment of the psychological needs and that it demands social support, which can both be found in the community with others but can also be provided by the public sector to promote sustainable physical activity during pregnancy.
