Sammanfattning: To create inclusion in non-governmental organizations - A study based on people’s experiences on exclusion. In this study have I looked at the experience of people who do not feel included nor welcome in non-governmental organizations in Malmö who works towards a more democratic society. I have done this through analyzing interviews with these people as well as two other organizations through my method thematic content analysis with the perspective of my theory intersectionality. The study is situated in the context of Malmö, a city with a long and unique history of left-wing activism and organizations. I have done this study with the aim of gain the perspectives from people experienced that they weren’t heard in the organizations they were active in. Through my main questions 1. What exclusionary processes are experienced in non-profit organizations in Malmö and how are they experienced? 2. From an intersectional approach, how does this create exclusion? And 3. What strategies can non-profit organizations adopt to create more inclusion/prevent exclusion? Through my research have I come to the conclusions that there exist several steps organizations can incorporate to create a more inclusive environment. Which will also challenge the dominating groups and hegemonies who exist within the organizations who exclude people by not listening to their voices and perspectives. The purpose of this paper is to find a path through these narratives to create more responsive organizations that will hopefully also lead to them becoming more inclusive.
