Sammanfattning: This is a qualitative study aimed at getting an idea of how preschool teacher students perceive physical activity linked to the preschool context, how they perceive factors that can affect preschoolers' ability to be physically active, and how they themselves imagine that they might work on this later when they come out to work. The study was conducted through semi-structured interviews with five preschool teacher students who are studying their final semester of preschool teacher education. The results of the study show that preschool teacher students imagine that the attitude, commitment and presence of educators are perceived as the factor that can affect the physical activity of preschoolers the most. But also that it is important that children are offered a variety of physical activities. This is so that they have the opportunity to create an interest in being physically active. The results also show that preschool teacher students have a perception that physical activity can occur both spontaneously in the free play and during planned activities. All informants also perceive that it is easier to be physically active outdoors because it is more allowed there than in preschool's, sometimes cramped, indoor premises. Results also show that the informants imagine that the forest and stay in the local area attract higher levels of physical activity. And the hilly and varied terrain that exists in the forest provides good opportunities for training on rough motor skills.
