    Sammanfattning : Cultural traditions in indigenous peoples about maternity, childbirth and puerperium are fundamental bases to their history and knowledge for the well-being of the community. However, government and private health services in general only offer Western birthing practices, making pregnant indigenous women fall between two systems: one based on their traditions and beliefs but weakened by poor resourcing and inefficiencies, and the other by policies of acculturation.     Sammanfattning : This study explores the elements that can or must be changed in a film or television series for it to be successfully adapted and translated into other languages, in order to be accepted and understood by other cultures. By conducting two focus groups and individual interviews with experts in the matter, this study demonstrates that film and television can be an intercultural communication tool that serves as a bridge between different cultures, breaking the barriers and providing an understanding of one another’s norms.
