21. The effect of an atrium and building orientation on the daylighting and cooling load of an office building. : An early stage study.
Master-uppsats, KTH/Installations- och energisystemSammanfattning : The thesis is an outcome of a collaborative work between the author and an architect. It aims to answer design questions that were posed in the early stages by the team of a student architect and the author himself relating to the daylighting performance of the building located in Stockholm, Sweden. 22. A Method for Driving the Solar Control Mechanism Selection
Master-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Avdelningen för Energi och byggnadsdesignSammanfattning : Highly glazed spaces are continuously increasing in popularity due to architectural attractiveness. However, increased use of glass often jeopardizes thermal comfort in several ways and problem of overheating is one of them. A way to face this problem is to appropriately use solar control mechanisms. LÄS MER
23. Re-Imagining the Million Programme : Strategies to Increase Flexibility in Existing Multi-Family Housing
Master-uppsats, Umeå universitet/Arkitekthögskolan vid Umeå universitetSammanfattning : Housing has always been an urgent question in modern times: how to provide for increasing demand and quickly changing patterns of living. One of the main issues with it is that the very people who will buy, rent and use housing have mostly have little or no say in the design— or how they would like the house to change over time. 24. Reduction of heat loss for an immersion heater
Magister-uppsats, Högskolan i Halmstad/Sustainability, Innovation and Management in Building (SIMB)Sammanfattning : In this study, an electrical immersion heater mounted on a water tank has been investigated. Themain aim was to reduce heat transfer and to utilize the maximum energy available from heater toheat the water. LÄS MER
25. Heat recovery units in ventilation : Investigation of the heat recovery system for LB20 and LB21 in Building 99, University of Gävle
Magister-uppsats, Högskolan i Gävle/Avdelningen för bygg- energi- och miljöteknikSammanfattning : Heating, ventilation and air-conditioning (HVAC) systems are widely distributed over the world due to their capacity to adjust some local climate parameters, like temperature, relative humidity, cleanliness and distribution of the air until the desired levels verified in a hypothetical ideal climate. A review of buildings’ energy usage in developed countries shows that in the present this energy service is responsible for a portion of about 20% of the final energy usage on them, increasing up to 50% in hot-humid countries.
