1. Micro-CT based finite element models for mechanical strength assessment of glass ceramic scaffolds obtained through the robocasting technique
Master-uppsats, KTH/HållfasthetsläraSammanfattning : In this thesis, micro computed tomography (μ−CT) scans of a bio-glass scaffold produced by the robocasting technique was used to create finite element method (FEM) models with the purpose of determining its mechanical strength. Prior to this, a Matlab script was used to create several simplified geometries of the scaffold in an effort to determine the importance of scaffold design parameters (such as the fiber compenetration between two adjacent printing planes) on the strength of the scaffold. 2. Fatigue properties of Laser Powder Bed Fusion (LPBF) built 21-6-9 stainless stee
Master-uppsats, Högskolan Väst/Avdelningen för avverkande och additativa tillverkningsprocesser (AAT)Sammanfattning : Fatigue performance is one of the important mechanical properties which is hindering some of the additive manufacturing build structures. The main objective of this study is to investigate the fatigue life dependence of the 21-6-9 austenitic stainless-steel build using the laser powder bed fusion (LPBF) technique. LÄS MER
3. Post-processing for roughness reduction of additive manufactured polyamide 12 using a fully automated chemical vapor technique - The effect on micro and macrolevel
Master-uppsats, KTH/Skolan för kemi, bioteknologi och hälsa (CBH)Sammanfattning : Additive manufacturing has increased in popularity in recent years partly due to the possibilities of producing complex geometries in a rapid manner. Selective laser sintering (SLS) is a type of additive manufacturing technique that utilizes polymer powder and a layer-by-layer technique to build up the desired geometry. LÄS MER
4. Failure Modeling of Curved Composite Beams : Numerical Modeling of Failure Onset and Propagation in L-Profile Beams
Master-uppsats, KTH/LättkonstruktionerSammanfattning : The high strength/stiffness-to-weight ratio that composite materials exhibit has led to the utilization of composites as alternative to traditional materials in weight-critical applications. However, the highly anisotropic nature of composites renders the strength prediction under complex loading challenging. LÄS MER
5. Simulation of Delamination Migration in Laminated Composite Structures - An Approach Combining Extended Finite Elements and a Cohesive Zone Model
Uppsats för yrkesexamina på avancerad nivå, Lunds universitet/HållfasthetsläraSammanfattning : Fiber-reinforced polymer matrix composites are being used increasingly in lightweight applications where high strength and stiffness is required. One of the main challenges with designing components from such materials is to predict the ultimate strength and behaviour of the structure. LÄS MER
