1. Storm Water Management with BlueGreen Infrastructure in Urban Planning : A case-study in Krokom, Sweden
Kandidat-uppsats, Mittuniversitetet/Institutionen för naturvetenskap, design och hållbar utveckling (2023-)Sammanfattning : As changing climate and growing urban populations present new challenges for managing both the quantity and the quality of storm waterin cities, nature-based solutions such as blue-green infrastructure arebecoming widely considered as an alternative to grey infrastructure. The benefits, above providing storm water management at a lower cost, are increased ecosystem services. LÄS MER
2. Modified cellulose synthesized by different deep eutectic solvents as an additive in paper making process
Master-uppsats, Karlstads universitetSammanfattning : The environmental concerns that come with the currently used traditional papermaking process where petroleum-based additives are used, has tempted researchers to study “green” additives by introducing environmentally friendly modifications of cellulose as an additive in the papermaking process. This thesis will spin further on that by producing additives with different charge densities and focus on to incorporate an etherification reaction into potentially greens systems based on non-toxic and readily biodegradable deep eutectic solvent (DES). 3. Bluegreengrey (BGG) solution for future climate and flood-resilient urban drainage network by enhancing the natural hydrological cycle
Master-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Avdelningen för Teknisk vattenresursläraSammanfattning : A loop of urbanization, increasing impervious surface in urban areas, increasing temperature, rainfall, surface runoff and flooding, and lack of new spaces have been adding challenges to urban drainage systems for decades. The climate change impacts are exposing the existing vulnerable conventional urban drainage systems to more challenges in the future. LÄS MER
4. Estimation of flood risk and cost-effective mitigations : A case study in Tierp
Master-uppsats, KTH/Hållbar utveckling, miljövetenskap och teknikSammanfattning : Climate change is predicted to alter the rainfall patterns in the future, and extreme rain events with large rainfall volumes will become more frequent and intense which increases the flood risk. A clear trend can be seen, where more and more people decide to relocate from rural to urban areas. LÄS MER
5. Pluvial urban flooding in a densified Sweden : do sustainable flood management and densification fit together?
Master-uppsats, SLU/Dept. of Urban and Rural DevelopmentSammanfattning : Pluvial urban flooding occurs in many parts of the world, including Sweden, often with severe consequences. Climate change and increased urbanization exacerbate the risk of urban flooding, and traditional urban drainage systems are unable to keep up. LÄS MER
