1. Experimental studies of radiation damage in uranium nitride
Master-uppsats, KTH/FysikSammanfattning : The effect of proton (H+) irradiation on uranium mononitride (UN) and UN compositefuel with 10 at.% ZrN (UN10at%ZrN) was examined. Protons of 2 MeV with fluences of1E17, 1E18, 1E19 and 1E20 ions/cm2 were accelerated towards the fabricated samples in orderto investigate the evolution of the micro-structure. LÄS MER
2. Uncertainty & Sensitivity Analysis of Nuclear Fuel Using Transuranus & Dakota
Master-uppsats, KTH/FysikSammanfattning : With the initiative taken by the SUNRISE project (Sustainable Nuclear Energy Research in Sweden) to construct a Lead-cooled research reactor, this thesis intends to extend the knowledge within nuclear fuel development. By using integral iterative modelling and simulating techniques that mimic real-world phenomena, novel fuel materials like uranium nitride are assessed for future validation. LÄS MER
3. Analysis of Heating Processes for the Production of Bipolar Plates in PEM Fuel Cells
Master-uppsats, KTH/Skolan för industriell teknik och management (ITM)Sammanfattning : Polymer electrolyte membrane fuel cells (PEMFCs) are a promising alternative to combustion engines and batteries in vehicles. PEMFCs are more efficient than combustion engines, and cars powered by PEMFCs tend to have longer ranges than battery powered cars and has a short fuelling time. LÄS MER
4. Thermal Conductivity of Uranium Mononitride
Master-uppsats, Linköpings universitet/TunnfilmsfysikSammanfattning : Thermal conductivity is a crucial parameter for nuclear fuel, as it sets an upper limit on reactor operating temperature to have safety margins. Uranium mononitride (UN) is a prospective fuel for fast reactors, for which limited experimental studies have been conducted, compared to the currently dominating light-water reactor fuel, uranium dioxide. 5. Etching methods for Electron Microscopy of Actinide Nitride Fuel.
Kandidat-uppsats, KTH/ReaktorfysikSammanfattning : This report describes the process of a Bachelor thesis project conducted by two students at the KTH Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm, Sweden. The project consists of establishing a functioning etching method for enhancing the visibility of grain structure in uranium nitride ( ) and uranium-zirconium nitride ( ). LÄS MER
