1. ENVIRONMENTAL RADIOLOGICAL STUDIES OF KVARNTORPSHÖGEN Dose and Radiological Risk Assessments for Humans and Biota
Master-uppsats,Sammanfattning : Background: The pile Kvarntorpshögen and the lakes Surpölen and Norrtorpssjön are the remains of an industry which mined and processed oil shales to extract oil during World War II. The pile mainly consists of shale ash, a waste from the production, while the lakes are nowadays water-filled mining pits. LÄS MER
2. The influence of soil properties on the transfer of 137Cs from soil to plant : results from a field study 21 years after the Chernobyl accident
L3-uppsats, SLU/Dept. of Soil and EnvironmentSammanfattning : 137Cs is one of a few radio contaminants from the Chernobyl accident in 1986 that is left in measurable quantities in Sweden. The hazardous radionuclide has a physical half-life of 30 years and enters easily into biological systems. Several studies have been performed on 137Cs and its behaviour in different ecosystems since the fallout. LÄS MER
3. Migration of radiocaesium in six Swedish pasture soils after the Chernobyl accident : a comparison with earlier studies 1987-2005
L3-uppsats, SLU/Dept. of Soil and EnvironmentSammanfattning : This study comprises six pasture soils in central and northern Sweden which were strongly affected by the Chernobyl fallout in 1986. The aim of the study was to investigate the vertical migration and plant uptake of radiocaesium as related to soil texture and other soil properties. LÄS MER
