1. Precipitation analysis in bearing steel Hybrid 60
Master-uppsats, KTH/MaterialvetenskapSammanfattning : New materials are always being developed to get the best properties possible where needed. The way to create these materials and test them is also developing. When it comes to high-strength steels, a martensitic microstructure is a common choice. LÄS MER
2. Precipitation behavior of the super austenitic stainless steel SANICRO® 35 and the effect on impact toughness and pitting corrosion resistance
Master-uppsats, KTH/MaterialvetenskapSammanfattning : This research extended the knowledge of the solid phase transformation and the resulting influence on impact toughness and pitting corrosion resistance in super austenitic stainless steel (SASS) SANICRO® 35. A time-temperature-transformation diagram (TTT diagram) was assembled by performing isothermal heat treatments in the temperature range of 650-1050 °C for different periods of time, ranging from 5 min to 500 min. 3. Correlation between microstructure and fatigue cracks in cast aluminium alloy A205
Kandidat-uppsats, Jönköping University/Tekniska HögskolanSammanfattning : Materials research in the aerospace industry is, among other things, focused on reducing the weight and increasing the life of components. Materials with high strength and long lifespan are therefore examined. LÄS MER
4. Linkage of Macro- and Micro-scale Modelling Tools for Additive Manufacturing
Master-uppsats, KTH/MaterialvetenskapSammanfattning : Additive manufacturing methods for steel are competing against commercial production in an increasing pace. The geometry freedom together with the high strength and toughness due to extreme cooling rates make this method viable to use for high-performance components. The desirable material properties originate from the ultrafine grain structures. LÄS MER
5. Extraction Replicas of Common Engineering Alloys for Analysis of Small Precipitates
Master-uppsats, KTH/MaterialvetenskapSammanfattning : Characterization of small precipitates is important for development of new alloys. One inherent difficulty in characterisation of small precipitates with electron microscopy techniques while the particles are embedded in the matrix, is that the surrounding bulk material will contribute to the analysed signal- limiting, for example, the quantification of the composition of particles.
