Sammanfattning: Safety and security can mean and include multiple things. This thesis will discuss and research safety, spatial design, and informationdesign as well as their relationship to each other. The purpose of this paper is to examine how poor spatial design can affect users and their experience of an environment. The writing will revolve around a location in the Örebro City, specifically the train station Södra station. The paper will aim to answer why and how this place could feel unsafe to its users and how spatial elements can affect behaviors. The paper will also evaluate the environment currently in place which lacks sitting spaces, informationdesign in signs but also the unused station house. To answer these questions, theories surrounding design, human needs, and feelings will be explored.    In addition to answer the questions mentioned previously, this paper will also aim to create a well- executed design proposal based on scientific background, theories, and users experience. The spatial design will predicate all selected choices in theories from known sources. The theories will be based on previous research from authors and researchers familiar in the subject. Important commitments, concepts and meanings will be based on research that has been relevant in the three years of the education. In combination with theories, several non- identical methods have been applied during the process which have been refined and combined to benefit the thesis. Methods like observations, analysis, A/B testing and interviews with users will be the basis for the empiricism.    This thesis will demonstrate concrete sources that probates the results. The work will be focused on the user´s ideas and will sometimes differ from the research. This disparity will however have its basis in science and secure sources to include valid design choices to fit most of the users.
