Livskvalité hos barn med akut lymfatisk leukemi – en litteraturöversikt

Sammanfattning: Background. Acute lymphoblastic leukemia is one of the most prevalent cancer diseases for children. To date there are a few studies that have examined the Quality of Life (QoL) regarding children with ALL. Quality of life includes several areas regarding physical, psychosocial and social well being. There are plenty of validated instruments to measure children's quality of life. To understand how quality of life impacts children with acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) it's vital for the nurse in their profession concerning treatment and nursing.  Aim. The aim of this study was to examine how children with ALL rate their physical, psychosocial and social quality of life, examine QoL compared to healthy children and how their quality of life changes over time.  Method. The study was a systematic review where articles were chosen and the aim was to assess the quality of life of children with ALL. Results. The results of 11 articles show that children with acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) rated their Quality of Life low in general and lower than healthy children. Especially lower quality of life were seen within the physical domain. The quality of life improved over time and were better the further into the treatment the children came.  Conclusion. It's vital to spot a decreased quality of life regarding children with ALL to gain an improved understanding of its influence on the individual.
