Sammanfattning: This essay is a qualitative study of the Swedish primary care and covers the medical professions’ experiences and opinions about the organizational governance of health care. Eight semi structured interviews have been made with four doctors, two physiotherapists, one psychologist and one nurse. The interviews aimed for the respondents to talk about their experiences of governance and compensation models. The results concluded that the system has some shortages. Sometimes employees have incentives to maximize economic replacement instead of making the most effective decisions. There is also a lack of relevant ways to measure the qualities of health care. The discussion focus on how the governance can be improved, why there seems to be a difference between private and public health centers and why the compensation models sometimes give employees improper incentives to use the system. The conclusions suggest more flexibility in the compensation models as well as a higher degree of participation among primary care employees in the decision making in order to reach more effective governance.
