På jakt efter dalanavellaven Umbilicaria subglabra samt klättringens påverkan på lav- och mossvegetationen på Ålandsklipporna utanför Uppsala

Sammanfattning: In Sweden Umbilicaria subglabra has its only known occurrence in Lybergsgnupens nature reserve in the county of Dalarna where it has been found only once in 1936. It was found on the east-facing rock spur, approximately 650 meters above sea-level. The lichen is now red-listed as Regionally Extinct (RE) in Sweden. The aim of this study was find U. subglabra. I have with the aid of climbing equipment done a thoroughly investigation of the cliff-face at Lybergsgnupen. My conclusion is that U. subglabra no longer grows on the location. The cliff harbours eleven other species belonging to the genus Umbilicaria. Their population sizes were assessed. Three other locations in the area were also searched for the presence of U. subglabra with negative results. Effects of rock climbing on the cliff-face vegetation on Ålandsklipporna, Uppsala, Sweden Ålandsklipporna was a popular climbing crag outside of Uppsala in the 1980's and the 1990's. In 1999 a fire took place in the area and the site was closed for climbing during two years. Due to the closure, the area was forgotten by the climbing community and the climbing at the crag dramatically decreased. Just before the fire M. Lundstedt sampled the lichen and moss vegetation of the cliff-face on Ålandsklipporna. The aim of this study was to do a new sampling of the area and compare the results with M. Lundstedts results to see how the decrease in climbing pressure due to the closure of the site in 1999 have affected the lichen and moss vegetation of the cliff-face. The results show that the climbing pressure negatively affected the abundance of lichen and mosses on popular climbing routes of Ålandsklipporna. Since the climbing-pressure of the area came to an end in 1999 the vegetation on the cliff-face has returned to its natural condition. Climbing did not affect the number of species on the routes. Some species like Lecanora polytropa were positively affected by climbing and the abundance of other species, such as Umbilicaria polyphylla were negatively affected.
