Sammanfattning: The aim of this study was to investigate The Salvation Army's work with human trafficking for sexual purposes since it is a specialized organization in civil society that has a long history of working with this issue. Research shows that overall, the Swedish agencies neither have the competence, nor the knowledge, needed to meet the issue. We, as coming social workers wanted to investigate what the Salvation Army does and what we could learn from them. Seven social workers were interviewed within the Salvation Army's Brigade. Our analysis used the Cultural Historical Activity Theory and led to the conclusion that The Salvation Army has as a routine in which social workers in their operations are allowed to follow a basic course on human trafficking for sexual purposes. Further, the interviewed social workers clarified that their well-developed action skills are related to the treatment of the target group, as they clearly highlighted that they give the women the right to self-determination as well as full autonomy in their relationship with them. Some challenges that emerged were how the target group of women they meet are skeptical of authorities and that they may mistake the Salvation Army for an authority.
