Sammanfattning: This study aims to analyze how politicians from different municipalities in the Christen democratic party of Sweden, view questions regarding the right to abortion. Furthermore, it compares the individuals’ views with both each other and the party’s official stand. The material consists of interviews and the party program from year 2015. The method of the study is based on a qualitative idea analysis in order to understand and compare ideas the politicians have. The theoretical framework is based on Christopher J Kam’s sociological approach, which discusses how social norms have the possibility to affect parliamentary behavior. The theory also suggests that political parties and their members not always play along regarding opinion formation. The result of the study indicates both similarities and differences between the politicians and in regard to the official agenda. However, it is not possible to state for certain which factors that plays the biggest role but gender and time in the political party seems to be two important ones.
