Sammanfattning: This paper analyzes the evolution of narrative forms and the use of war metaphors in written press related to drug trafficking in the newspaper La Capital of the city of Rosario (Argentina), between 2011 and 2022. In mid-2013 there was a rise in crimes related to the world of drug trafficking, which in our opinion, favored a change in the way of narrating and the use of the linguistic resource of metaphors related to the field of war. This study develops a qualitative methodology that seeks to account for a diachronic change that occurs in the written press, considering the traditional ways of narrating and the new ones that are presented, where there is a greater use of the resource of metaphor, especially of the war order. The work is based on theoretical studies on the structural metaphor conceived by Lakoff and Johnson and on Germán Rey's analysis of the narrative resources mobilized by the police press. The conclusions show that the press narrative about drug trafficking in Rosario is presented more as an authentic violent war compared to how it was presented before through a narrative based on technical police and legal concepts.
