Sammanfattning: This essay examines the eschatology expressed by authors of sermon preparation texts in the publication Svensk kyrkotidning. The essay contains an analysis of the texts with a method which is in part constructed by me, but it contains concepts of contextual analysis. For the analysis three main concepts is used and defined. The concepts I use and construct for this analysis is in Swedish called tankefigurer which translates as figures of thought. The first one I call the doctrine which contains teaching of the last time and the last things. It is also mainly an individualistic perspective. The second figure of thought is called visions of future which contains thoughts of how the future will become and how we should build the kingdom of God. The thoughts of the future are based upon what we can see and calculate right now. It also contains a communal perspective. The third figure of thought is called the ferment and contains thoughts of God as omnipresent and perspectives that are somewhat cosmic. It also sees the future as coming and somehow unexpected, and not as something you can calculate out of the present.                       The purpose of the essay is to see how the figures of thought is expressed, and in what extent sermon preparation texts also contains enviromental issues. The enviromental issue is currently expressed by the bishops of the church of Sweden in a letter called “Ett biskopsbrev om klimatet” and enviromental issues are also connected to eschatology. The conclution of this study is that the authors of the sermon preparation texts seldom speaks of enviromental issues and that they seldom use the figure of thought that contains doctrine. They often use the ferment and thoughts of God as omnipresent, perhaps to avoid the doctrine, and often use the vision of the future as something we are responsible to do. We, that is humans, are responsible to build relations with eachother and with God.
