Sammanfattning: Studies have shown that young people’s health is declining in relation to the time spent by the computer, but also that young people can use internet as a tool for seeking help. The aim of this study is to create a better understanding of how young people use internet to seek help and support for their psychological health. The study seeks to define the themes around which young people mostly seek help. The data was collected through observations of discussion threads created by young people in the ages 12-25, who are seeking help, support and confirmation from other peers.  The collected data consists of 71 threads posted between 2019 and 2020. Theories about development psychology are applied to create a better understanding of the processes that young people generally go through in their search for an identity and their development towards becoming an adult. To create an understanding of young people's activities on the internet, theories and results from previous research are applied and discussed. The results of the study show that many young people today use the internet to ventilate, seek confirmation, help and support. The thematic analysis resulted in following headings: mental illness, relationships and normality.
