Sammanfattning: The aim of this study was to gain increased knowledge and understanding of how case managers work with older people who lack insight in their situation due to their dementia. The research questions of this study are about the case managers work, if it differs in the assessment of older people who lack insight in their situation due to the dementia, compared to older people who do not have dementia. The other research question is about if there are any circumstances that the case managers would like to change around these situations. In order to be able to answer the study's purpose and research questions, the study used five qualitative semi-structured interviews. These semi-structured interviews have been conducted with five different case managers who work or have worked in the X-municipal investigation team. These interviewees have been selected through a targeted selection and a convenience selection. The result of the study shows that there are differences in the work between older people with dementia and older people without dementia. The result also shows that the case manager would like to change certain circumstances around these situations. I have also discussed the results of the study in relation to the previous research. This study will also highlight Lipksys theory and consequents ethics in relation to the results of the study. My aim with this study is to theoretically generalize these results into similar groups and contexts and hopefully contribute with new knowledge
