Sammanfattning: This comparative literature case study aims to analyze the understanding and expression,conceptions, of professional ethics in the literature compiled by The Teachers Council ofProfessional Ethics (Lärares Yrkesetiska Råd, my translation) in Sweden. The empiricalmaterial of this study is presented by the Council to understand professional ethics better,and therefore the compilation speaks of how the Council imagines that professional ethicsis best applied within the field of teaching. Methods for text interpretation and argumentanalysis are employed to analyze the material. A central piece in this study is theconstruction of ethical conceptions. The constructions purpose is to categorize ethicalunderstanding and expression within the frame of a typology based on well-known ethicaltraditions. How these conceptions reflect in arguments by different authors in thecompilation as well as which patterns can be interpreted as a part of their representation isthe focus of the study.
