Sammanfattning: Abstract Background: In today's society there is a big focus on children's physical activity which hasmade older peoples physical and mentally well being not as prioritized lately, but their healthis just as important as someone else. Physical activity is a major contributor to a person'sgood health. With aging, other complications can be added and risk factors put the individualin a danger zone. Since the elderly's health has not been a priority, it has made older peopleunaware of what amount of physical activity they should perform.Aim: The study aimed to investigate how the research situation looks today regarding theimpact of different types of physical activities on the health of the elderly. Methods: A literature study consisting of nine articles was used. For the literature searcheswe used three different websites: EBSCO, sportDiscus and PubMed. A thematic analysiswas used to summarize the research we found in the literature searches. Results: The results showed that physical activity for the elderly people had a positiveimpact on health. Physical activity in the form of strength training, endurance training atdifferent intensity levels and group training partially showed an improvement in well-beingover a certain number of weeks. Discussion: The conclusion of this study showed that physical activity has a great importanceon the elderly. Physical activity is not only good for a person's physical health, physicalactivity is also good for a person's mental and social health so that the general health is inbalance
