”Där är man ju inte på mammas gata, det är ju där man behöver hjälp” En kvalitativ studie om familjehems erfarenheter av stöd

Sammanfattning: The main aim of this bachelor thesis is to describe foster families support from their main county. This was made through a qualitative study where five foster families were interviewed about their experiences of support. The study was addressed to families in a small town in Sweden who are said to receive both emotional and economical support. Four themes were reoccurring when analyzing the results: resources, availability, education and independence. Our research showed that most foster families were satisfied with the support that they got from the county but that they wanted more available support. They mostly wanted a phone number to call after hours and someone to get feedback from if difficulties occurred. All in all, the families were satisfied and wanted to receive the same level of support with only minor modifications. Despite some complaints the majority of the families considered their need of support as fulfilled. This we believe might show that the families are relatively pleased with the support that is offered.
