Sammanfattning: This study intends to map out the experiences of municipal employees regarding continuous workplace education. The goal of this study is to paint a better picture of employees' workplace education in the hopes of showing their benefits as well as giving employers clear points of improvement for further implementation. The study is qualitative based and uses interview based data with an inductive, phenomenographic lens to make its assumptions. The study's theoretical framework is based mostly on pedagogy theory such as organizational learning, collective learning as well as the theory of lifelong learning. When analyzing the data the study condenses and breaks down the most important points that were brought up in the analysis chapter. The most prominent point is that all who were interviewees appreciated workplace learning due to the fact that there is always some knowledge to be received. There is overall a bias towards internal over external workplace education due to the fact that the interviewees believe that they are more adapted towards the specific conditions in their workplace. Most interviewees felt a lack of an established process for integrating newly acquired knowledge throughout the organization. Lastly the study concludes that there are always costs regarding workplace education in the forms of economy, time and emotional stress. Therefore the potential improvements need to outway these costs for it to be a worthwhile workplace education.
