    Författare :Gabriel Juul; [2023]
    Nyckelord :Thermal energy storage; Carnot battery; sand; packed bed; granular medium; porous medium; effective medium technique; effective thermal conductivity; paramedic study; 3D model; COMSOL; numerical modelling; Lagring av värmeenergi; Carnot-batteri; sand; packad bädd; granulärt medium; poröst medium; effektiv mediumteknik; effektiv värmeledningsförmåga; parametrisk studie; 3D-modell; COMSOL; numerisk modellering;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis explores the heat transfer characteristics of a packed bed thermal energy storage device through the development of a 3D model in COMSOL Multiphysics. The model is based on a laboratory-scale device consisting of an aluminum box filled with sand, which acts as the thermal storage medium. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Energy storage technologies : A comparative techno-economic analysis with focus on economic value to the customer

    Master-uppsats, KTH/Skolan för industriell teknik och management (ITM)

    Författare :IVA PAPIC; [2021]
    Nyckelord :;

    Sammanfattning : As the global renewable energy penetration increases, energy storage technologies are being rapidly deployed to compensate for the intermittency and non-dispatchability of variable energy resources. Storage solutions play a crucial role in providing reliability and flexibility, but their growth is subject to a number of barriers. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Azelio’s Thermal Battery for Combined Heat and Power : A Thermo-economic and Market Research Study

    Master-uppsats, KTH/Skolan för industriell teknik och management (ITM)

    Författare :Martin Lantz; [2020]
    Nyckelord :Carnot battery systems; thermal energy storage; techno economic analysis; market review;

    Sammanfattning : The objective of this thesis was to assess the market opportunities for two novel Carnot battery system solutions, one supplying power and low temperature heat as well as a system supplying medium temperature heat exclusively. To fulfill the objective, a methodology was developed and implemented to investigate the market potential, further two techno-economic models were developed and utilized to investigate the performance of such Carnot battery solutions.
