1. Analysis of Mutable Game Environments Built on a Tetrahedral Mesh : Tetras, a Potential Alternative to Voxels
Master-uppsats, KTH/Skolan för elektroteknik och datavetenskap (EECS)Sammanfattning : Historically 3D game environments have almost always been immutable. Mutable environments are a technical challenge that will affect performance. For games of the future to continue approaching realism, mutable environments are an essential step. LÄS MER
2. Signed Distance Field For Deformable Terrain Shovel Collision Detection
Uppsats för yrkesexamina på avancerad nivå, Umeå universitet/Institutionen för fysikSammanfattning : One commonly used representation of complex objects in physics-based simulations are triangle meshes. This representation utilizes a collection of triangles to approximate an object. An alternative representation is a Signed Distance Field (SDF). LÄS MER
3. Simulation Model for Forestry Ground and Vegetation Damage
Uppsats för yrkesexamina på avancerad nivå, Umeå universitet/Institutionen för fysikSammanfattning : Training simulators are valuable tools in education of forest machine operators. One important part of the education is to learn about damages occurring due to the forest machines and how they can be avoided. Two types of damages are especially severe, soil compaction and formation of wheel ruts. LÄS MER
4. REAL-TIME RENDERING OF DEFORMABLE SNOW COVERS
Magister-uppsats, Umeå universitet/Institutionen för datavetenskapSammanfattning : Rendering snow environments in real-time requires effective methods for representing the snow and its properties. This thesis explores methods for rendering deformable snow covers, where a dynamic heightfield is used for storing snow heights. Collision detection for cylinder geometries is used to generate tyretracks from wheels. LÄS MER
5. Analysis of the rigid multibody tire
Kandidat-uppsats, Umeå universitet/Institutionen för fysikSammanfattning : A brief description of the multibody system mechanics is given as the first step in this thesis to present the dynamical equations which will be the main tool to analyze the two-body tire model. After establishing the basic theory about multibody systems to understand the main character in the thesis (the tire) all the physical components playing in the tire terrain interaction will be defined together with some of the developed ways and models to describe the tire rolling on non-deformable terrain and the tyre rolling on the deformable terrain.
