  1. 1. Identifying effects of adrenaline and dopamine binding on the beta2-adrenergic receptor structure and function using machine learning

    Kandidat-uppsats, KTH/Skolan för teknikvetenskap (SCI)

    Författare :Joar Gunnarsson; Leon Bergner; [2023]
    Nyckelord :beta2-adrenergic receptor; GPCR; adrenaline; dopamine; Machine learning; Molecular dynamics simulation;

    Sammanfattning : The beta2-adrenergic receptor is a G-protein coupled receptor, involved in several physiological processes, which enables signaling through the cell membrane. To study the effect of dopamine and adrenaline binding on the receptor structure and function, we used machine learning methods applied to data from molecular dynamics simulations. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Orphan G-Protein Coupled Receptors : Can we deorphanize the remaining orphans despite all the challenges?

    Kandidat-uppsats, Linköpings universitet/Institutionen för fysik, kemi och biologi

    Författare :Micaela Andersson; [2022]
    Nyckelord :Deorphanization; Heterodimerization; High-throughput screening; Orphan G-protein Coupled receptor; Pseudogenes; Reversed pharmacology;

    Sammanfattning : G-protein coupled receptors (GPCRs) play a key role in a broad range of biological processes by binding to a wide variety of signaling molecules, which have resulted in 34% of all FDA-approved drugs which target GPCRs. The human genome encodes for approximately 800 GPCR members of which about 140 non-olfactory receptors remain orphans with an unknown function and endogenous ligand. LÄS MER

  3. 3. The differential signalling of the succinate receptor SUCNR1/GPR91, through Gi versus Gq

    Master-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Teknisk mikrobiologi

    Författare :Sofie Liljewall; [2022]
    Nyckelord :GPR91; SUCNR1; G protein recruitment; Gi; Gq; TRUPATH biosensor; BRET2; Applied Microbiology; Biology and Life Sciences;

    Sammanfattning : G protein-coupled receptors are the biggest family of membrane bound receptor in the human genome, they are also target for many drugs due to their accessible location in the cell membrane. We have characterized the G protein recruitment of the succinate receptor 1 (SUCNR1/GPR91). LÄS MER

  4. 4. Structure-based design of novel pharmacological tools for the A3 adenosine G protein-coupled receptor

    Master-uppsats, Uppsala universitet/Institutionen för läkemedelskemi

    Författare :Ashish Tamhankar; [2021]
    Nyckelord :;

    Sammanfattning : Adenosine receptors (ARs) are a family belonging to the GPCR superfamily, involved with multiple physiological processes and widely distributed throughout the body. In this study, we focus on the A3 AR due to its vast scale applications in various pathophysiological conditions such as inflammation, pain, allergic asthma, and cancer chemotherapy. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Challenging specificity of chemicalcompounds targeting GPCRs with cellprofiling

    Master-uppsats, Uppsala universitet/Institutionen för biologisk grundutbildning

    Författare :Anton Davidsson; [2020]
    Nyckelord :cell profiling; gpcr; g-protein coupled receptor;

    Sammanfattning : Screening compounds with image-based analysis is an important part in the processof drug discovery. It is an efficient way to screen compounds as it gives moreinformation than for example HTS. LÄS MER
