  1. 1. Seroprevalence of feline panleukopenia virus in domesticated cats in Maasai Mara, Kenya : a possible threat of transmission to wildlife?

    Master-uppsats, SLU/Dept. of Clinical Sciences

    Författare :Clara Björkholm; [2024]
    Nyckelord :feline panleukopenia virus; FPV; domestic cat; seroprevalence; Kenya; Maasai Mara; Mara North Conservancy; Mara Cat Project;

    Sammanfattning : Feline panleukopenia virus (FPV) is a highly contagious virus that can stay stable in the environment for a long period of time. The virus can infect both domesticated cats, wild felids, and other wild animals. It has the highest morbidity and mortality rate in new-born and young kittens. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Fitnesskomponenter hos honor av Drosophila melanogaster : Med alternativa alleler av en potentiell sexuellt antagonistisk gen

    Kandidat-uppsats, Karlstads universitet/Fakulteten för hälsa, natur- och teknikvetenskap (from 2013)

    Författare :Maja Högström; [2023]
    Nyckelord :Drosophila melanogaster; fruit fly; intralocus sexual conflict; antagonistic genes; Drosophila melanogaster; bananfluga; antagonistiska gener; sexuellt antagonistiska gener;

    Sammanfattning : Anisogami och sexuella konflikter kan vara grunden till flera fall av könslig dimorfism. Intralokus sexuell konflikt uppstår när alleler vid ett genetiskt lokus har en antagonistisk effekt på fitness hos hanar och honor. Helgenomstudier har pekat ut flera sexuellt antagonistiska kandidatgener hos Drosophila melanogaster. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Parentage Assignment using genetic markers in the common carp (Cyprinus carpio)

    Master-uppsats, SLU/Dept. of Animal Breeding and Genetics

    Författare :Sven Kristian Feddersen; [2023]
    Nyckelord :single nucleotide polymorphism; Parentage Assignment; aquaculture; genetic markers;

    Sammanfattning : This study investigated the effect of varying single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) marker density, error threshold selection, and different SNP selection strategies on parentage assignment accuracy in carp populations. Using a marker set of 15,615 SNPs, we found a positive correlation between the quantity of SNP markers and the accuracy of parentage assignments, consistent with existing literature. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Integrative Approaches Illuminate Evolutionary Divergence in the Bar-tailed Lark Complex ( Ammomanes cinctura)

    Master-uppsats, Uppsala universitet/Institutionen för biologisk grundutbildning

    Författare :Zongzhuang Liu; [2023]
    Nyckelord :Alaudidae; Ammomanes cinctura; Integrative taxonomy; Genomics; Plumage; Evolutionary divergence;

    Sammanfattning : Ammomanes cinctura (Bar-tailed Lark) is a lark species with a wide distribution in the Palearctic. One of its subspecies, A. c. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Multiple-Emitter Super-resolution Imaging using the Alternating Descent Conditional Gradient Method

    Kandidat-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Beräkningsbiologi och biologisk fysik - Genomgår omorganisation; Lunds universitet/Institutionen för astronomi och teoretisk fysik - Genomgår omorganisation

    Författare :Dolev Illouz; [2023]
    Nyckelord :super-resolution; alternating descent conditional gradient method; ADCG; multiple-emitter localization; nanoscale imaging; single molecule tracking; Physics and Astronomy;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis examines the state-of-the-art 2D super-resolution technique alternating descent conditional gradient (ADCG) method's ability to accurately localize fluorophores in diffraction-limited single molecule images (SMI) and analyze the impact of pre-processing and post-processing modules on ADCG's fluorophore localization. A synthetic dataset obtained from the 2013 Grand Challenge localization microscopy and a temporally linked dataset obtained from an unpublished set of Optical DNA mapping experiments performed by Jonathan Jeffet at the NanoBioPhotonix Lab at Tel-Aviv University were initially segmented to extract their noise parameters.
