1. Quantum Optical Description of High-order Harmonic Generation
Master-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Atomfysik; Lunds universitet/Fysiska institutionenSammanfattning : High-order Harmonic Generation (HHG) is a highly non-linear process in which an atom interacts with a strong laser field. The laser field lowers the atomic potential barrier allowing bound electrons to escape into the continuum through tunnel ionization, propagate, and, with some probability, recombine with the parent ion. 2. Digitally Controlled Oscillator Topologies for mm-Wave Pulsed Coherent Radar
Master-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Institutionen för elektro- och informationsteknikSammanfattning : The advancement of future generations of wireless communication and radar sensing warrants the need for mm-wave digitally controlled oscillators (DCOs) with high-frequency trade-offs in consideration. The purpose of this project is to investigate DCO topologies inspired from scientific literature. LÄS MER
3. Pulsed Laser Beam Quality Assessment via Phase Retrieval
Master-uppsats, Lunds universitet/AtomfysikSammanfattning : In the search for a better understanding of the fundamental nature of the atom, the development of femtosecond pulsed laser sources has opened up for many applications, in particular in time-resolved physics. For many of those, like the generation of attosecond pulses through high-order harmonic generation, high intensity is needed and the quality of the beam is a critical factor. LÄS MER
4. Semi-Classical Calculations of Multiple Trajectories in High-Harmonic Generation
Kandidat-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Atomfysik; Lunds universitet/Fysiska institutionenSammanfattning : The purpose of this thesis is to investigate the High-Harmonic Generation (HHG) process by simulating electron trajectories, and their resulting Extreme Ultra Violet (XUV) output. The HHG process is one in which a focused beam of infrared (IR) light can rival (in terms of intensity) the potentials of atoms, which makes tunnelling likely -- this sets off a chain of events resulting in an XUV pulse. 5. Manipulation and application of laser light using spatial light modulation
Master-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Atomfysik; Lunds universitet/Fysiska institutionenSammanfattning : Attosecond pulses obtained via high harmonic generation often suffer from chromatic aberration. This is inherent from the generation process as a consequence of the spatial profile of the driving laser pulses. LÄS MER
