  1. 1. Modeling and Simulation for Forward Arming and Refueling Points : Enhancing efficiency and Decision- making in Military Operations

    Master-uppsats, Försvarshögskolan

    Författare :Philip Muurmans; [2023]
    Nyckelord :FARP; military operation; military logistics; military capability; Modeling and Simulation; Monte Carlo simulation; discrete event simulation; IS framework;

    Sammanfattning : This master’s thesis explores the application of Modeling and Simulation (M&S) techniques in military operations involving Forward Arming and Refueling Points (FARP). FARPs play a crucial role in supporting aircraft operations by facilitating deep penetration into enemy territory and ensuring sustained presence in the Area of Operation (AOO). LÄS MER

  2. 2. Truck drivers’ attitudes and interactions with advanced driver assistance systems : Applying the joint cognitive system perspective and the contextual control model in naturalistic driving contexts

    Master-uppsats, Linköpings universitet/Institutionen för datavetenskap

    Författare :Tobias Ryrberg; [2023]
    Nyckelord :ADAS; attitudes; trust; interaction; automation; JCS; COCOM;

    Sammanfattning : One of the most common causes of death is road accidents and in 95% of these accidents the human factor is involved. Therefore, Advanced-Driver-Assistance-Systems (ADAS) have been developed to support the drivers. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Gliding an Airbus A320 - Simplicity-Complexity Trade-Off

    Magister-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Avdelningen för Riskhantering och Samhällssäkerhet

    Författare :Cristian Mandu; [2021]
    Nyckelord :Aviation; Crew Resource Management; Workload; Situational Awareness; Decision Making; QRH procedure; Judgment Heuristics; Joint Cognitive Systems; FLMU06; Technology and Engineering;

    Sammanfattning : In the unlikely critical event of an Airbus A320 aeroplane suffering an all engines failure at cruising altitude, would the pilots be able to follow procedures and land safely on a reachable runway? Nine out of twelve simulations done during this research resulted in a crash when the pilots used only the Airbus procedures. Can the pilots make a safe landing on a runway after being taught and having practised judgment heuristics in addition to the manufacturer procedures? According to the sampled results in this research, they can. LÄS MER

  4. 4. An investigation of the role of a work analysis in the design of automation in railway systems

    Magister-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Avdelningen för Riskhantering och Samhällssäkerhet

    Författare :Holger Becht; [2016]
    Nyckelord :FLMU06; system safety; human factors; automation; Joint cognitive systems; work domain analysis; Social Sciences;

    Sammanfattning : The past decades has seen automation rapidly increasing in the railway industry, with the "perceived" motivations of faster services, economy, safety, and energy efficiency. However these motivations often obscures the fact that automation also create new burdens and complexities for the operators and maintainers (Bainbridge, 1983; Woods, 1996). LÄS MER

  5. 5. Control Modes In High-Speed Navigation : verifying a new protocol to evaluate team performance in terms of control modes in a joint cognitive system

    Kandidat-uppsats, Institutionen för datavetenskap; Filosofiska fakulteten

    Författare :Peter Nordmark; [2013]
    Nyckelord :Cognitive Systems Engineering; CSE; Joint Cogntitive Systems; JCS; Control; Control Modes; Navigation; Team Performance; Naturalistic Decision Making; NDM; Recognition Primed Decision; RPD; High Speed;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis presents a study in which an attempt to verify a new protocol for evaluating team performance in terms of control was made, and this on teams performing navigation in high speed in real life, natural contexts. A second objective was to identify key factors for achieving control during high-speed navigation. LÄS MER
